Squad Training
The Tobi Ishi Kai Kata Squad has had great success at competitions, winning numerous national and international titles, despite only having been formed since 2004. This formidable squad won an incredible 242 medals during 2007 which reaffirmed their position of Wadokai England’s Top Kata School.

Squad training is held every 4-6 weeks and is open to all members of Tobi Ishi Kai. These sessions offer an excellent opportunity for students to receive intensive training for kata and kumite. Squad training is overseen by Sensei Mark Beeby 5th Dan.
Kata instruction is given from Sensei Justine Wilson-Cleife whose skills in coaching have led to the squads achievements on an international level.
Kumite instruction is from Sempei Mike Smith who has extensive knowledge of competition kumite.
Our Kata and Kumite squad is selected from the squad training sessions and from time to time squad members may be offered more individual training – this will be by personal invitation only.
Wadokai England Squad Training
For those students showing dedication to training, the option of training with the Wadokai England Squad will be available subject to your Sensei’s recommendation to England coaches and their subsequent acceptance. At present we have 6 England Squad members who train and compete regularly for England.

54 Medals & Trophies at the Mushindo Kata Championships
Tobi Ishi Kai students fought their way again to the top of the trophy list at the Mushindo Kata Championships on 22nd June. The Elite & B Squad from Tobi Ishi Kai returned with a staggering 54 medals and trophies, the highest medal haul on record for the Wolverhampton based Mushindo Championships. Chief Instructors Sensei Mark Beeby and Sensei Justine Wilson-Cleife were also awarded a large trophy in recognition of their achievements.
