Gradings

There are four gradings a year for all students up to brown belt, provided that the student has attaind proficiency at the level required.

Training once a week is not a problem, though it may mean that after the first two gradings (as the syllabus increases in difficulty) it is likely to take longer to obtain each grade.

The Grading Day

A few weeks before a grading, students will be sent a registration time.

  • Registration - make sure your arrive on time and register immediately. Please bring with you your licence and your Attendance Record / Grading Syllabus book. Students taking blue belt or above will also require full sparring kit.
  • Grading - You will be graded with other students of the same level, so don't feel nervous, you won't be on your own. An instructor will guide you through your grading - with lower grades all instructions are in English. An examiner will take notes and on completion of your grading you will be given your pass grade, belt and certificate.

Grading dates will be listed on the Events page.
