Gradings
Grading Examinations - You will be graded with other students of the same level, so don't feel nervous, you won't be on your own. You will have a pre-grading course to help you prepare and the instructor will guide you through your grading. Instructions are in English for all of the lower grades. Your examiner will take notes and on completion of your grading you will be given your examination results, successful students will receive a belt and certificate.
Grading examinations take place each month on a Saturday so please check website events page regularly for dates and remember to book and pay for your grading at least one week before the examination date.
Booking a Grading Examination
- The gradings need to be booked in advance a week prior to the examination. Please book with your instructor or send payment in the post to Tobi Ishi Kai Karate Schools, 21 Lyttelton Court, Lyttelton Rd, Droitwich, WR9 7BG (please contact your instructor for information on grading fees)
- Bookings will not be accepted without payment. Once payment has been recieved confirmation of the grading will be placed on the Events page of the website
- Should you miss booking your place by the due date then students may pre-book for the
following months grading. - Bookings may be made prior to attaining the number of lessons required; however the
Student must complete the lesson requirement before the grading date. If lessons have
not been 100% completed, students will be put back to the following month’s exam date. - No refunds will be issued.
Junior Gradings
For young students attending numerous lessons each week, there is the potential to grade very quickly.
Senior black belts are not awarded to children under the age of 11 years due to a general lack of experience and knowledge of theory and application. Students under the age of 10 years are therefore eligible (ability permitting) to take a Junior Black Belt. Students who take the Junior Black Belt may then
wish to continue their training at the senior level to attain the full Senior Black Belt.would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and students who supported the workshops in our efforts to attain higher standards.
